Privacy Policy
We realize legal terms can get a little confusing, not to mention boring. For this reason, we???ve included a Plain English Summary for users who don???t want to spend hours reading and translating our full Privacy Policy. For legal scholars and others who enjoy this sort of thing, you may also read our full Privacy Policy below.
Privacy Policy in Plain English:

We DO keep both personal and non-personal information.
We won???t bother you unless you want us to.
We won???t let anyone else bother you unless you want them to.
You can always change or delete any of your personal information.
Even if you allow us to bother you, you can always stop us at a later date.
We won???t collect or keep any information about children younger than 13.
We won???t share your information, unless the police or the U.S. government forces us to.
YouMe.Us Privacy Policy
(Effective Date: April 1, 2006)

Welcome to YouMe.Us. The YouMe.Us online service (???Service???) and its creator and operator, PrismaStar Software (???Service Provider???), are committed to respecting your privacy. While we collect some information from you, it is our policy to ensure that all of your personal information remains private and secure. As part of our privacy policy, we: (i) provide a privacy notice and/or a link to this Privacy Policy (???Policy???) statement on all pages that ask for personal information; (ii) will not sell or release personal identifying information about you to any other party without first notifying you; and (iii) will not knowingly collect or use personal identifying information from children younger than 13.

This Policy may be modified occasionally, so please check back often to review the most recent version (the date of the most recent version will appear at the top of this statement). In addition to reviewing this Policy, please read our Terms and Conditions of Use (???Terms???). Your use of this Service constitutes agreement to the Terms and this Policy.

1. WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

When you visit the Service, basic information is collected that does not identify individual users. This information includes, but is not limited to, which and how often pages are visited, the types of ads viewed, content submitted, your IP address, the type of browser you use, and feedback from visitors. We then aggregate this information with volumes of other pieces of information to improve the Service for you.

The Service also collects personally identifiable information with your specific knowledge and consent. When you register for the Service, you provide such personal information as: your name, e-mail address, and birth date. This information is collected on pages where you create your account and at other pages where you can add content to the Service. Optional information, such as your school, interests, or zip code may also be required to enhance the Service and improve its offerings.

The Service may assign a unique random number or ???cookie??? to your browser. These cookies provide a secure way for the Service to verify your identity, personalize your experience on the Service, speed navigation, keep track of items, and make your visit to the Service more convenient and enjoyable. You privacy and security are not compromised when you accept a cookie from the Service and we don???t use cookies to collect specific personal information. We also use cookies to remember information you gave us so you don???t have to reenter that data every time you visit our site. By showing how and when users use the Service, cookies also help the Service Provider to see which areas are popular and which are not. Many improvements and updates to the Service are based on data such as the total number of visitors and pages viewed.

Some of our advertisers occasionally serve you cookies as well. The Service does not have control over cookies placed by advertisers. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies, but that will disrupt some of the functions of the Service.

2. HOW INFORMATION IS USED

Service Provider uses the information you supply to the Service to provide you with the services you have requested and to enhance service offerings. The Service may also use the information you provide to communicate with you about new features or improvements to the Service. If you choose, the Service can also use it to send you information about products and services that may be of interest to you. Information that is not personally identifiable is used to determine how many people use the Service. For example, this data gives the Service information including how often users visit the Service, which areas of the Service are most popular, and how often users click on advertisements. Analyzing this data allows for performance and content improvements. Using IP addresses allows the Service to determine the general physical location of users and may use this information to better target advertising to users.

3. WHOM INFORMATION IS SHARED WITH

Service Provider does not sell users??? e-mail addresses. Service Provider may allow access to our database by third parties that provide the Service with services, such as technical maintenance, but only for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to provide those services. Non-personal identifying may also be provided to advertisers, so that they can serve ads to you that meet your needs or match your interests. While Service Provider will seek to require such third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies and will not authorize them to use this information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, Service Provider does not bear any responsibility for any actions or policies of third parties. There may also be occasion when we are legally required to provide access to our database in order to cooperate with police investigations or other legal proceedings. In those instances, the information is provided only for that purpose.

While your individual information is protected as outlined above, Service Provider reserves the right to use, transfer, sell, and share aggregated, anonymous data about users of the Service as a group for any business purpose, such as analyzing usage trends and seeking compatible advertisers and partners.

4. HOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE INFORMATION

If you would like to change any information in your account at any time, you may go to your profile by clicking on the ???MyPages??? menu at the top of any page and selecting ???Profile??? from the drop down menu. Once there, by pressing ???Edit Profile??? you can change or update your e-mail address, password, name, location, and other information. You can save your changes by pressing ???Update.???

To delete personally identifiable information, you must manually make changes to data fields in your ???Profile??? by erasing each one and leaving them blank. Otherwise, your data will be retained indefinitely. Please note that public comments, advice, posts, and other content submitted to the Service on a public forum cannot be deleted. Because anonymous user information is not identifiable as originating with you, it cannot be reviewed or changed by you.

5. HOW TO STOP INFORMATION ABOUT YOU FROM BEING GATHERED

To unsubscribe from any e-mail messages, simply hit ???Reply??? to any message you receive and type the words ???UNSUBSCRIBE??? and the particular subject in the subject field of the e-mail reply. Please reply to the e-mail using the e-mail address at which you have received mailings from us, and you will be removed from the list. Note that your e-mail will still be retained by the Service in order to identify you and allow for communication with the Service for purposes such as password recovery, topic posting notifications, and other information which you request.

6. PROTECTING THE PRIVACY OF CHILDREN UNDER 13

No one under age 13 is permitted to provide any personal information to the Service or to use the Service. Service Provider does not knowingly collect any personal information from any child under the age of 13. Before registering for the Service, users are required to agree to the Service Terms which include an acknowledgement that the user is 13 years of age or older. By participating in the Service, the user is representing that he or she is 13 years of age or older and agrees to the Terms. If you are worried about your children???s activities or their privacy on the Service, please contact our Privacy Department at info(at)youme.us.

7. OTHER

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information by us, as described in this policy. We will not monitor, edit, or disclose the contents of e-mail, correspondence, or any other electronic communications received from you, unless required in the course of normal maintenance of the Service or if required to do so by law or in the good-faith believe that such an action is necessary to: (i) comply with the law or legal process served on us; (ii) protect and defend Service Provider???s rights or property; or (iii) act in an emergency to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

The Service Provider fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use the Service for illegal activities. Service Provider reserves the right to release information about users who are believed to be in violation of the Service Terms, especially Online Conduct terms and conditions. Service Provider also reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that are reasonably believed to be unlawful.

When you click on links and/or ads that take you to third-party Web sites, you will be subject to those third parties??? privacy policies. While the Service Provider supports the protection of privacy on the Internet, it cannot be responsible for the actions of third parties. You are encouraged to read the privacy statements posted on any Web site.

This Policy may be occasionally modified or updated; please check the Policy periodically for changes. By using the Service, you signify your acceptance of agreement to the Service Privacy Policy.

We welcome comments, questions, or concerns. Please contact us at info(at)youme.us for further information.
