Thank you for using GoPets. As part of our service,
we may collect from you the following:
-Email address
-Name / Nickname / Handle
-Location
This information is used to track unique users and provide them with access to GoPets services and technology. GoPets will never sell your information to third parties or provide it to any non-GoPets entity without your permission.
GoPets will send you a confirmation email when you create your account to verify your address. A message is emailed to you if someone requests lost user account information for your account to be sent. If you file any request with our customer service you will receive a response through email. If you subscribe to Premium GoPets Service, payment notifications will be sent through email, if possible. You may also receive periodic news updates solely from GoPets staff, unless you choose to opt out from our notification list. News emails will provide details on new features as they come available, and will arrive along a tasteful timeline -- we will do our best not to "spam" you.
Your location information is limited to city, state/province, and country, and is used to provide a 'home' city for your pet. This determines where you appear on our World Map and where your profile is listed in regional search queries.
As part of our User Profile service (and related Friends Search service) you may also be asked to provide this optional information:
-Gender
-Date of Birth
-Your Picture
We optionally ask for your date of birth and gender; you are not obligated to provide this information. GoPets may use its database to generate statistical tables not connected to specific user identity. If you choose, this information can be made invisible to other users in the GoPets Friends Search database by accessing the My Profile section of our website after logging in, and selecting 'Edit'. Each entry can then be made private, available to immediate connections, available to second degree connections, or public, by clicking the icon to the left of the text.
We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of thirteen, to remain consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998.
One exception to this policy is that we will release specific information about you or your account to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute or court order.
